Vyāvṛt (व्यावृत्).—1 Ā.

1) To turn away from, turn back; सहभुवा व्यावर्तमाना ह्रिया (sahabhuvā vyāvartamānā hriyā) Ratnāvalī 1.2.

2) To be turned or withdrawn from, to be averse to; विषयव्यावृतकौतूहलः (viṣayavyāvṛtakautūhalaḥ) V.1.8.

3) To become separate or distinct from, to get rid of; न स पाम्मनो व्यावर्तते (na sa pāmmano vyāvartate) Bṛ. Up.1.5.2.

4) To turn round, revolve.

5) To go down, set (as the sun).

6) To cease to exist, perish.

7) To be opened or split asunder.

8) To recur, to be repeated again; देशपृथक्त्वात् मन्त्रो व्यावर्तते (deśapṛthaktvāt mantro vyāvartate) MS.12.1.42. -Caus.

3) To destroy, remove; व्यावर्तितातपरुजः प्रथमाभ्रवृष्ट्या (vyāvartitātaparujaḥ prathamābhravṛṣṭyā) V.5.16.
