Vyatiṣaṅga (व्यतिषङ्ग).—

1) Mutual relation, reciprocal connection.

2) Intermixture, entanglement; त्रुट्यद्वितानतनिकाव्यतिषङ्ग- भाजः (truṭyadvitānatanikāvyatiṣaṅga- bhājaḥ) Śiśupālavadha 5.61.

3) Union, junction in general.

4) Fastening or tying together; तन्तुव्यतिषङ्गजनितोऽयं तन्तु- व्यतिषङ्गविनाशात् तन्तुविनाशाद्वा विनश्यतीत्यवगच्छति (tantuvyatiṣaṅgajanito'yaṃ tantu- vyatiṣaṅgavināśāt tantuvināśādvā vinaśyatītyavagacchati) ŚB. on MS. 1.1.21.
