Vyāpṛ (व्यापृ).—6 Ā.

1) To be engaged in or occupied with, be busy about (with loc.).

2) To be employed or placed (in any office). -Caus.

1) To cause to work, engage upon, entrust with, appoint to (usually with loc.); व्यापारितः शूलभृता विधाय सिंहत्वमङ्कागतसत्त्ववृत्तिः (vyāpāritaḥ śūlabhṛtā vidhāya siṃhatvamaṅkāgatasattvavṛttiḥ) R.2.38; आत्मजनानुष्ठेये कर्मणि त्वां व्यापारयितुमिच्छामि (ātmajanānuṣṭheye karmaṇi tvāṃ vyāpārayitumicchāmi) Mu.1.
