Pancaratra (worship of Nārāyaṇa)
Source: archive.org: Isvara Samhita Vol 5Vyāpakamantra (व्यापकमन्त्र) refers to a set of four mantras to be uttered during the fourfold washing of rice (śāli), according verse 25.86b-87a of the 8th-century Īśvarasaṃhitā. Accordingly, “rice and others are to be washed four times with the water purified with cloth uttering the four vyāpakamantras”.
The four vyāpakamantras are:
- Praṇava-mantra,
- Aṣṭākṣara-mantra,
- Ṣaḍakṣara-mantra,
- Dvādaśākṣara-mantra.

Pancaratra (पाञ्चरात्र, pāñcarātra) represents a tradition of Hinduism where Narayana is revered and worshipped. Closeley related to Vaishnavism, the Pancaratra literature includes various Agamas and tantras incorporating many Vaishnava philosophies.
