A term applied to a huge and sluggish man or animal; a sturdy drone, a worthless flesh-mountain, a heavy lubber. 2 Applied also (vṛthāpuṣṭa meaning, in Sanskrit, nourished or fed in vain) to any indolent or good-for-nothing person whether fat or otherwise.
