Viṭṭala (विट्टल).—Name of a form of Viṣṇu or Kṛṣṇa (worshipped at Pandharpur in the Bombay presidency); 'श्रुत्वा नामसहस्रं श्रीविठ्ठलस्य गुणान्वितम् (śrutvā nāmasahasraṃ śrīviṭhṭhalasya guṇānvitam) |' -श्रीविठ्ठला- ष्टोत्तरशतनामस्तोत्रम् (śrīviṭhṭhalā- ṣṭottaraśatanāmastotram) 1; 'शिरो मे विठ्ठलः पातु (śiro me viṭhṭhalaḥ pātu)' -विठ्ठलकवचम् (viṭhṭhalakavacam).
