Vistarati (विस्तरति).—(1) (in Sanskrit only trans.; back-formation from caus. vistārayati ?; but simple star- recorded once as intrans., see Schmidt, Nachträge), becomes widespread, appears everywhere: tadā vividhāni kalpavṛkṣā °ranti, cūtavṛkṣā (text cyūta°) °ranti Kāraṇḍavvūha 17.12—13; (2) pass. vistīryate, is set forth at length, is explained: (nāvagacchāmi) °yatāṃ vacanam etad Divyāvadāna 378.2, I don't understand, explain this statement; compare vistīraṇa.
