Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationViṣṇuśiṣya (विष्णुशिष्य) refers to “one who is the disciple of Viṣṇu” and is used to describe Brahmā, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.10.—Accordingly, as Brahmā narrated to Sage Nārada:—“O Brahmā, the fortunate disciple of Viṣṇu [i.e., viṣṇuśiṣya], O lord, foremost among the devotees of Śiva, please narrate the divine sport of Śiva in detail to me. What did Śiva, separated from Satī, do? When did He go to the excellent ridge of the Himavat to perform penance? How did the discussion between Śivā and Śiva take place? How did Pārvatī attain Śiva by performing penance? O Brahmā, these and other things, connected with the divine life of Śiva, pleasing and auspicious, you kindly narrate”.
