1) Vipratipanna (विप्रतिपन्न).—Doubtful; a matter of doubt; cf. विद्याद् विप्रतिपन्नानां पादवृत्ताक्षरै-र्ऋचाम् (vidyād vipratipannānāṃ pādavṛttākṣarai-rṛcām) R.Pr.XVII.13;
2) Vipratipanna.—Perverted; cf. तेभ्य एवं विप्रतिपन्नबुद्धिभ्यः अध्येतृभ्यः इदं शास्त्रमन्वाचष्टे (tebhya evaṃ vipratipannabuddhibhyaḥ adhyetṛbhyaḥ idaṃ śāstramanvācaṣṭe) M.Bh. on I.1 Āhmika 1.

Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.

3) Hindered, obstructed; नद्यो जलं विप्रतिपन्नमार्गाः (nadyo jalaṃ vipratipannamārgāḥ) Rām.4.28.45.
4) Contested, disputed.

Vipratipanna (विप्रतिपन्न).—(ppp. to prec.; = Pali vippaṭipanna), sinful: °nāś ca bhavanti Mahāvastu i.96.8 (leads to retrogression in Bodhisattvas); ārakṣaṇatā °neṣu Śikṣāsamuccaya 286.3 (prose), probably being on guard with reference to the sinful.
