Viparokṣa (विपरोक्ष).—(vi-parokṣa), adj. (= Māhārāṣṭrī vivarokkha, °rukkha), (quite) out of sight (vi- intensive? essentially = Sanskrit parokṣa); also a-vipar°, not out of sight, and °kṣa-tā: paramāryāṇāṃ viparokṣāṇām api sarvatra sarvasattvā- viparokṣabuddhīnāṃ Bodhisattvabhūmi 154.23—24, tho out of sight, yet whose buddhi is always not out of sight of all creatures; saṃmukhāvasthitaṃ, viparokṣāvasthitaṃ Bodhisattvabhūmi 290.7; (tathāgatam eva ca teṣu buddhadharmeṣv) a-viparokṣa- tāyāṃ (in manifest state) samanupaśya Bodhisattvabhūmi 174.18.
