1) Evening, evening twilight, the close of day.

2) Improper time, unseasonable hour; (avelā); अभिज्ञातकृतः पन्था विकाले गन्तुमिच्छता (abhijñātakṛtaḥ panthā vikāle gantumicchatā) Rām.2.99. 1; Mahābhārata (Bombay) 3.297.83; Pañcatantra (Bombay) 5.88/89.

Vikālaka (विकालक).—m.

(-kaḥ) Evening, twilight. f.

(-likā) A perforated coppervessel, which is placed in a pan of water, and being filled at the expiration of a certain period, defines that period: a sort of Clepsydra, or water-clock. “tāṃ~vī”. E. vi before, kāla time, and kan added; or vi before, kal to go, aff. kkun .
