The eight-fold division is observed in the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā too, though not as strictly as in the Aṣṭāṅgasaṃgraha. Numerous commentaries on the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā [viz., the Vidyotinī], many of them unedited so far, can be traced in manuscripts, catalogues, publishers’ lists, etc.
