Vārta-anukarṣaka.—(IA 6), official designation of doubtful meaning; probably, a spy; mentioned in the Mahābhārata. Note: vārta-anukarṣaka is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
