Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryvāṅkēṃ (वांकें).—n (vāṅka or vaṅka) A felloe or felly of a wheel. 2 A curving piece of wood suspended at the ends; serving to receive dhotars &c. during ablution. 3 A lodge for implements and tools. It consists of two slips of wood laid parallel yet apart, and connected together at intervals, leaving a furrow along the centre. It is thrown across a room at some elevation from the floor. 4 A common term for the three transverse pieces on each side of the bed of a gāḍā (load-cart without a box). They are secured by pins (kuṇyā) to the longitudinal beams (ghōḍīṃ) passing over the axlebeam (ākharī) and are inserted respectively into the three tuḷava (the raised on the buṭēṃ or extremity of the axle).
