Vakintapuram or Ayintai refers to one of the 108 divyadesas according to Priyavaccan Pillai’s compendium of the Ramayana based on the Nalayirativviyappirapantam.—Ayintai is close to Cuddalore. The Lord is Tevanayakan. Shrines for Hayagriva are found here. It is a base for Vatakalai-Vaishnavism and linked with Desikacarya and Manavala-Mamunikal, fanatic advocates of Sanskritism.
