Vairamaṇya (वैरमण्य).—(nt.) = prec. two: prāṇātipāta-°ṇyaṃ-(all mss.; must be part of [compound]; § 8.14) -parasattva-samādā- yana-(q.v.)-tvād Lalitavistara 429.8, because he incites other creatures to abstention from taking life; prāṇātipāta-°ṇya-(text as above)-guṇavarṇasaṃprakāśanatvād 9; adattādāna-°ṇyār- thaṃ Avadāna-śataka i.223.12. All prose.
