vaghaḷaṇēṃ (वघळणें).—v c (See the neuter form of this verb.) To make to run or slip, i.e. to slip off (gems, flowers &c. from a wreath or string). 2 To pass by, to skip over, to throw out. 3 To draw off (as a portion of the rice, sugar &c.) from the flow or current of the daily expenditure. This is a custom with the housekeeping female. See ōghaḷaṇēṃ v c.

vaghaḷaṇēṃ (वघळणें).—v i (ōgha S Flowing.) To ooze, trickle, run. 2 To run or slip;--as a gem or bead from its string or from the ear or nose, a ring from the finger, a bracelet from the wrist, a sword from its sheath, a mallet-band, beetle-ring, cane-ferrule: to stream forth;--as grain from its sack, any substance spilled: also to split up or run in its bore;--as the ear or nose; or to break up and fall asunder;--as a garland or string. 3 To flow off;--as earth under the scouring of a torrent. 4 To rush or fall upon bodily (as in blind passion); quasi to be poured out upon. 5 To be skipped or missed; i.e. to fall out of the notice of. Note. vaghaḷaṇēṃ is the same as ōghaḷaṇēṃ, but, being the form in the Desh, it has an application or two not so common in the Konkan̤ with the form ōghaḷaṇēṃ.
