Vādapatra (वादपत्र) is the name of a work dealing with Philosophy.—The Vādapatra (in Sanskrit) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Vādapatra represents an incitation to discuss, about the existence of dharma, valid means for knowing it, etc. in lively Sanskrit. Perhaps meant to be used in oral debates. From 1r6 the work has a clear Jain orientation: terminology relating to living beings, reference to the characters of Jain mythology as representing the means of knowledge āgama, four-fold division of dharma in gift, morality, ascetic practices, concentration (see on this topic cat. nos. 106-107).
