Uttṝ (उत्तॄ).—1 P.

1) To pass out of (water), disembark, come out of; उत्तेरे तरलतरङ्गरङ्गलीलानिष्णातैरथ सरसः प्रियासमूहैः (uttere taralataraṅgaraṅgalīlāniṣṇātairatha sarasaḥ priyāsamūhaiḥ) Śiśupālavadha 8.63,64; to get or jump out of, rise from; 12.31; पल्वलोत्तीर्ण (palvalottīrṇa) R.2.17; अभिषेकोत्तीर्णाय, स्नानोत्तीर्णः (abhiṣekottīrṇāya, snānottīrṇaḥ) Ś.4.

2) To cross, pass or get over (a river &c.); उदतारिषुरम्भो- धिम् (udatāriṣurambho- dhim) Bhaṭṭikāvya 15.33,1; शोकसागरमुत्तीर्य (śokasāgaramuttīrya) Ve.3; तेनोत्तीर्य तथा (tenottīrya tathā) R.12.71,16.33; Meghadūta 49.

Uttṛ (उत्तृ).—the same + come up from ([ablative]), [especially] out of the water (±jalāt), escape, be saved from ([ablative]). [Causative] cause to come out, vomit up, take off; lead or fetch over, save from ([ablative]), deliver, rescue.
