Indīvarā has been variously identified with Śatāvara (Asparagus racemosus), Indravāruṇī (Citrullus colocynthis), Ajaśṛṅgī, Indracirbhaṭī, Kadalī, Kuraṇṭikā (Celosia argentea). The third chapter (guḍūcyādi-varga) of this book contains climbers and creepers (vīrudh). Together with the names Uttamāraṇī and Indīvarā, there are a total of six Sanskrit synonyms identified for this plant.
