Source: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Utarapura is the name of a village that existed in the ancient kingdom of Anurādhapura, Ceylon (Sri Lanka).—In inscriptions of the early centuries A.C. a division named Utarapura is mentioned which appears to have been named after a town of the same name: perhaps Upatissagāma was known also, contemporaneously or later, as Utarapura.
