uparāḷa (उपराळ).—a P Surplus, spare, redundant.

uparāḷā (उपराळा).—m (upari S) A weight placed upon one side of the load upon a beast, to produce equilibrium of the two sides. 2 Surplus stock, goods, or money; a provision for emergencies; an excess taken or a reserve made: also surplus remaining (as of a payment, an expenditure &c.) 3 Preponderance; excess of weight above the standard (as of a bale, sack, or other indivisible mass). 4 A false charge or imputation: also a pretext or false plea. 5 An aggressive or provoking act. 6 Advantage over; superiority (after a dispute or contest). 7 Backing, helping, succouring. 8 Excess upon certain articles (oil, ghee, gūḷa, tobacco &c.) given by the vender. 9 Any trifling addition (as a bundle, a few sticks &c.) thrown over the load upon a beast. 10 Requital or recompense of evil. v kara. 11 The weight put into the scale with the article under weighing.Source: DDSA: The Aryabhusan school dictionary, Marathi-English
