Source: ORA: Amanaska (king of all yogas): A Critical Edition and Annotated Translation by Jason BirchUpaniṣadvid (उपनिषद्विद्) refers to the “knowers of the Upaniṣads”, according to the Amanaska Yoga treatise dealing with meditation, absorption, yogic powers and liberation.—Accordingly, as Īśvara says to Vāmadeva: “[...] Learned scholars who possess intellect do talk about the highest Brahma, [but] those who are skilled in communicating [even] a small part of self-realization are hard to find in this world. Knowers of the Upaniṣads (upaniṣadvid), which are the culmination of the Vedas [vedāntopaniṣadvidaḥ], talk [openly] about the no-mind state and others teach it in secret. These [people] do not experience it themselves. [...]”.
