Upalabh (उपलभ्).—1 Ā.

1) To know, understand, see, perceive (directly); सव्यदक्षिणयोर्यत्र विशेषो नोपलभ्यते (savyadakṣiṇayoryatra viśeṣo nopalabhyate) Pañcatantra (Bombay) 1.76; अन्या प्रतिक्रिया नोपलभ्यते (anyā pratikriyā nopalabhyate) K.152.

2) To ascertain, find out, learn, know; ब्रूहि यदुपलब्धम् (brūhi yadupalabdham) Uttararāmacarita 1; तत्त्वत एनामुपलप्स्ये (tattvata enāmupalapsye) Ś.1; Mv.7.3; R.12.6; Bhaṭṭikāvya 3.27; K.159; M.41, 3.6,4.6.
