Merchants, who were often absent from home for a long time, were sometimes made free from unmara- bheda (entry into their house) by royal officers probably be- cause they paid their dues on their return from business tours. Cf. prātibhedikā. Note: unmara is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
