umāsā (उमासा) [or उमास, umāsa].—m The working and heaving of a bilious or nauseated stomach; qualmishness or queasiness: also a qualm. v . 2 The rising and swelling (of lust, anger, joy, tenderness, grief, or other strong emotion): the working and preparing (of a tempest or storm, of a boil or tumor, of a sickness or disease); brewing, suppurating, gathering, fermenting: the rising and heaving (of a cough): nausea from the stirring of worms. v . u0 ṭākaṇēṃ (Lit. To cast forth or give out breath.) To take breath; to have an interval of leisure or rest. Ex. malā u0 ṭākāyalā phāvata nāhīṃ; malā kṣaṇabhara u0 ṭākūṃ dē maga saṅgēṃ cālatā hōīna. Also umasa or umāsa khāṇēṃ in this sense, and umasa or umasā paḍaṇēṃ in. con.
