1. To become dry, to wither, to be parched up; காய்தல். [kaythal.]

2. To pine away, as from grief, disease or hunger; to flag, droop; வாடுதல். உலர்ந்துபோ னே னுடையானே [vaduthal. ularnthupo ne nudaiyane] (திருவாசகம் [thiruvasagam] 32, 1).
