II, 264 (v. l. ukkā). Or is it to be read ukhāsataṃ d. i.e. consisting of 100 pots (of rice = mahā danaṃ?). S A: paṇītabhojana-bharitānaṃ mahā-ukkhalinaṃ sataṃ dānaṃ. Cp. ukhā cooking vessel ThA. 71 (Ap. V. 38). Kern, Toev. under ukkhā trsl. “zeker muntstuck”, i.e. kind of gift. (Page 125)
Pali is the language of the Tipiṭaka, which is the sacred canon of Theravāda Buddhism and contains much of the Buddha’s speech. Closeley related to Sanskrit, both languages are used interchangeably between religions.

Prakrit is an ancient language closely associated with both Pali and Sanskrit. The earliest extant texts can be dated to as early as the 4th century BCE although core portions might be older.
