To divulge or blab (a secret matter). 5 To bring up (the cud) under rumination. 6 To tread (one's fodder) under foot--a beast. 7 (Note. The following senses, although for the sake of perspicuity, expressed in the neuter form, are really passive; and, as passive, they might have been left to be explicated by the student; but students are sometimes not wakeful, and not observant of the import of v c.) To yield under levigation or rubbing; to break down or fall asunder--a substance: and, fig., To soften down under discipline or instruction; to become obedient or subject under one's hand; to be broken in--man or beast.
