Udīkṣ (उदीक्ष्).—1 Ā.

1) To look up to, look at, view, behold; तमुदीक्ष्याभ्युवाद (tamudīkṣyābhyuvāda) Bṛ. Up.6.2.1; सप्रणाममुदीक्षिताः (sapraṇāmamudīkṣitāḥ) Kumārasambhava 6.7, 7.67; Amaruśataka 71.

2) To expect, look out for, wait for, शत्रुव्यसनम् (śatruvyasanam) Mu.4; त्रीणि वर्षाण्युदीक्षेत कुमार्यृतुमती सती (trīṇi varṣāṇyudīkṣeta kumāryṛtumatī satī) Manusmṛti 9.9.
