Udgharṣaṇa (उद्घर्षण).—

1) Rubbing, rubbing up; यस्योद्घर्षणलोष्टकैरपि सदा पृष्ठे न जातः किणः (yasyodgharṣaṇaloṣṭakairapi sadā pṛṣṭhe na jātaḥ kiṇaḥ) Mṛcchakaṭika 2.11.

2) Rubbing the skin with hard substances.

3) A cudgel.
