uḍaṇēṃ (उडणें).—v i (uḍḍāna S) To fly; to soar. 2 To leap, spring, bound, frisk, curvet, caper. 3 To leap or jump over. 4 To bound, rebound, hop. 5 To spring upon; to rush or fall upon with fury or ardor. 6 To pass away; to elapse. 7 To disappear suddenly; to be off quickly. Pr. divasa buḍā- lā āṇi majūra uḍālā. 8 To fade; to become faint or pale--a color: to be expended, exhausted, consumed--money, provisions, materials: to fail, fly off, cease, be no more--courage, water in a well, a means of subsistence, honors, riches, pleasures. 9 To rise from; to be disgusted with--the mind or affections. 10 To become dry; to cease to give milk--a milch animal. 11 To be fired or discharged--a gun. 12 To arise and prevail--fighting, altercation; wickedness, wantonness; sport, merriment; famine, havoc, disorder, distress. 13 To jump or bound upon, i. e. to proceed or act upon confidently or hopefully (wealth, power, a promise &c.) 14 To leap upon--the male of beasts in covering. uḍūna caraṇēṃ To live well; to feed in rich pastures; to dwell in courts or high places.
