1) (a) To cut off, extirpate, eradicate, destroy; नोच्छिन्द्यादात्मनो मूलं परेषां चातितृष्णया (nocchindyādātmano mūlaṃ pareṣāṃ cātitṛṣṇayā) Mb.; किं वा रिपूंस्तव गुरुः स्वयमुच्छिनत्ति (kiṃ vā ripūṃstava guruḥ svayamucchinatti) R.5.71,2.23; Pañcatantra (Bombay) 1.47,365.
