Tulyabhāvanā (तुल्यभावना) refers to “composition of equals” in Bhāvanā (“demonstration”) or “proof” (meaning anything demonstrated or proved, hence theorem, lemma), according to the principles of Bījagaṇita (“algebra” or ‘science of calculation’), according to Gaṇita-śāstra, ancient Indian mathematics and astronomy.—When the bhāvanā is made with two equal sets of roots and interpolators, it is called tulyabhāvanā (Composition of Equals) and when with two unequal sets of values, atulyabhāvanā (Composition of Unequals).
