Gitashastra (science of music)

Triyogaja (त्रियोगज) refers to “those miśrasthāyas formed out of the combination of three sthāyas”—[Cf the Saṅgītasudhā, p. 271].—Sthāya refers to melodic pattern constituted by the fundamental (and few other such) notes”. Miśrasthāyas are fundamentally a combination of sthāyas (or gamakas). Here, the author lists out the names of the different the miśrasthāya created out of the combination of two, three, four etc. sthāyas.

Those formed out of the combination of three sthāyas (triyogaja) are—

  1. līnakampitalīna,
  2. tribhinnakuralāhata,
  3. plāvitollāsitavalī,
  4. valihumphitamudrita,
  5. nāmitāndolitavalī, and
  6. valināmitakampita.
