Source: Wisdom Library: Dharma-samgrahaTridāna (त्रिदान) or simply Dāna refers to the “three kinds of gifts” as defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 105):
- dharma-dāna (the gift of the dharma),
- āmiṣa-dāna (the gift of material things),
- maitrī-dāna (the gift of friendliness).
The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., tri-dāna). The work is attributed to Nagarjuna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
