Commonly tōḍara) An ornamental ring for the ankle (of males). tōraḍīṃ ghālaṇēṃ To cast down (and make fast) to one's ankle-ring, i. e. to vanquish and subdue; to bind to one's feet. Ex. jayācī kāmanā dhāvaṇḍī || kāḷa ghātalā tōraḍīṃ || Dispel lawless desire, and overcome death and fate. See other ex. under the synonyme tōḍara.
