After the usual preparations which accompany all festival occasions, the appropriate idols are ceremoniously smeared with a paste [rajanīsāra], and the festival ends with an abhiṣeka rite (1-11). In February-March, worship of departed souls [pitṛpūjā] must be done with leaves, flowers, fruits, water, and sandal-paste offered to the deity (12-13).
