Tikādi (तिकादि).—A class of words headed by the words तिक, कितव, संज्ञा (tika, kitava, saṃjñā) and others to which the taddhita affix आयनि (āyani) (फिञ् (phiñ)) causing the substitution of vrddhi is added in the sense of 'a descendant'; e.g. तैकायनिः, कैत-वायनिः (taikāyaniḥ, kaita-vāyaniḥ); cf. Kas. on P. IV.1.154.
