Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarTikādi (तिकादि).—A class of words headed by the words तिक, कितव, संज्ञा (tika, kitava, saṃjñā) and others to which the taddhita affix आयनि (āyani) (फिञ् (phiñ)) causing the substitution of vrddhi is added in the sense of 'a descendant'; e.g. तैकायनिः, कैत-वायनिः (taikāyaniḥ, kaita-vāyaniḥ); cf. Kas. on P. IV.1.154.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
