Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA village in Ceylon where king Buddhadasa effected a miraculous cure (Cv.xxxvii.124f). It was near Anuradhapura, and the sima of the Mahavihara passed through it (Mbv.136).
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
