The words do not answer to Saliva. thukalā thukā cāṭaṇēṃ To swallow one's own (abusive or bad) words: also to retract or recall one's promises or assurances. thukā ghālaṇēṃ A schoolboy wanting to go out is required to spit upon a stone, and to return before his spittle dries. thukā or thukī jhēlaṇēṃ g. of o. (To catch the spittle of.) To assent meanly to the utterances of; to serve with abject obsequiousness. thukā tōṇḍāvara uḍaviṇēṃ To jeer, or abuse, or rate. thukā tōṇḍāvara ghēṇēṃ or, with g. of o., uḍaṇēṃ or yēṇēṃ To incur derision or ridicule. thukā na ōlāṇḍaṇēṃ g. of o.
