Source: Wisdom Library: Dharma-samgrahaThree Aspirations:—A technical term in Buddhism corresponding to the Sanskrit praṇidhāna defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 112):
- Bound to the beautiful (susthāna-prābandhika),
- Bound to the welfare of beings (sattvārtha-prābandhika),
- Purifying the Buddha-field (buddhakṣetra-pariśodhaka).
The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., ‘three aspirations’). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
