Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryṭhāṇēṃ (ठाणें).—n ( H) The head station of a tālukā: also, generally, a post, station, stand, or lodge under the civil authority. 2 The establishment (of peons &c.) maintained there. 3 Used fig. of an indecently long stay of a guest or visitor. v dē. 4 A horse-stall. ṭhāṇēṃ ghālaṇēṃ To take up a station or fixed post. Ex. sarasvatī kṛpā karūni || ghātalēṃ ṭhāṇēṃ jivhāgrīṃ ||.
