Ten Unwholesome Things:—A technical term in Buddhism corresponding to the Sanskrit kuśala defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 56):

  1. Killing living creatures (prāṇātipāta),
  2. Taking what has not been given (adattādāna),
  3. Sexual misconduct (kāmamithyācāra),
  4. False speech (mṛṣāvāda),
  5. Malicious speech (paiśunya),
  6. Rough speech (pāruṣya),
  7. Frivolous talk (sambhinnapralāpa),
  8. Avarice (abhidhyā),
  9. Ill-will (vyāpāda),
  10. Wrong view (mithyādṛṣṭi).

The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., ‘ten unwholesome things’). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
