tavakala (तवकल).—f n ( A) This word is in common use, but, like others from Arabic and Persian, is variously understood and applied. As in Arabic it signifies Trust in God, the best application of it is the phrase ta0 āhē implying It depends on God. There is danger, jeopardy, hazard, doubt, uncertainty &c., but ta0 āhē God's will determines all events and results. Pr. ta0 tavālā khudāpara havālā. tavakala karaṇēṃ To engage in as an adventure or a speculation; to hold as a case of danger or hazard.
