Tavāgrāyaṇa (तवाग्रायण) or “Vaiśākha Pūrnimā” is the name of a festival that once existed in ancient Kashmir (Kaśmīra) as mentioned in the Nīlamatapurāṇa.—Tavāgrāyaṇa proceeds as folows: This festival is celebrated when the barley becomes ripe. Offering new barley to the gods and the manes, and eating barley amidst sounds of musical instruments and the Brāhmaṇas are its main features.
