3) [noun] ಟಪ್ಪೆ ಓಟ [tappe ota] ṭappe ōṭa a race between two or more teams, each runner going in turn only a part of the total distance; a relay-race; ಟಪ್ಪೆ ಕುದುರೆ [tappe kudure] ṭappe kudure a horse kept at a post house or inn, for couriers and post chaises or for hire to travellers; a post-horse; ಟಪ್ಪೆ ಬಂಡಿ [tappe bamdi] ṭappe baṇḍi a coach or carriage drawn by horses, which were changed at each post; a post-chaise; ಟಪ್ಪೆಯ ಸವಾರ [tappeya savara] ṭappeya savāra a rider with a horse kept in readiness at each stage to relieve another and carry post, mail, parcel etc. brought from the latter further.
