tāṅgaḍaṇēṃ (तांगडणें).—v c (tāṅgaḍī) To tie up by the legs (a child &c.) 2 To tie up; to fasten to; to bind fast (a man or an animal to a post &c.): also to shackle; to confine by fetters. 3 fig. To tie down; to keep hard and close at; to confine or fix at (a place or an employment). 4 To detain harassingly or hinderingly. 5 To tear and pull about rudely. Ex. dōhō gharacā pāhuṇā tyāsa dōhī kaḍē dōna tāṅgaḍatāta: also, generally, to shake and cuff and treat hardly. 6 To work or use roughly, violently, or recklessly (animals, vehicles, things): to put out or keep up at hard gallop (a horse). 7 To mend or do up botchingly; to patch or piece up (old clothes, baskets, mats &c.)
