1. Pillar, column; தூண். தம்பத்தி னனக மாநர மடங்கலா யவதரித்து [thun. thambathi nanaga manara madangala yavatharithu] (பாகவத. [pagavatha.] 1, 1, 31).
2. Post to which elephants, etc. are tied; யானை முதலியன கட்டுந் தறி. [yanai muthaliyana kattun thari.]
