In Hinduism
Natyashastra (theatrics and dramaturgy)
Tālakalāvilāsa (तालकलाविलास) is the name of an ancient lakṣaṇagrantha (i.e., texts on saṃgīta-śastra or Musicology) cited in the Tālalakṣaṇam, a work ascribed to Kohala—a celebrated authority of the ancient period along with others such as Bharata, Yāṣṭika, Śārdūla, Kāśyapa etc.—Ramakrishna Kavi says that the Tālalakṣaṇa refutes the views expressed in several earlier lakṣaṇagranthas [such as Tālakalāvilāsa]. Many of the works mentioned are yet to see the light of day. The Tālalakṣaṇam is the only source of information regarding many of these lakṣaṇa-granthas.

Natyashastra (नाट्यशास्त्र, nāṭyaśāstra) refers to both the ancient Indian tradition (shastra) of performing arts, (natya—theatrics, drama, dance, music), as well as the name of a Sanskrit work dealing with these subjects. It also teaches the rules for composing Dramatic plays (nataka), construction and performance of Theater, and Poetic works (kavya).
